The Mourjjan FW24/25 “Ethereal” Show
On February 12th, at the esteemed Kongresshaus Zurich, Mourjjan enchanted the audience with its FW24/25 “Ethereal” collection by Roland G. Rahal. The runway was a spectacle of refinement and style, presenting a collection of couture garments wrapped in a captivating black color palette. Moreover, the show served as a platform for social change, supporting the “Tags Against Crime” campaign to raise awareness. Under the visionary direction and production of Yannick Aellen, the ethereal collection took on an even more enchanting dimension, with live music by “Egopusher” enhancing the sensory experience for all attendees.
Mourjjan’s FW24/25, themed “Ethereal,” invited on a journey into the world of haute couture that explores the intangible beauty surrounding us. Each crafted piece narrates a story of ethereal elegance, featuring a palette dominated by deep blacks and luxurious materials such as lace, tulle, and silk.
Roland G. Rahal, the creative force behind Mourjjan, is the second internationally recognized designer to dedicate his collection to “Tags Against Crime.” Roland significantly highlighted the campaign’s important issues, making a strong statement of solidarity with those affected by sexualized violence.
Mourjjan’s commitment to storytelling through fashion extends beyond aesthetics. The “Ethereal” Collection served as a powerful narrative. As a socially responsible brand, Mourjjan proudly supports the humanitarian campaign “Tags Against Crime,” aiming to enhance awareness through the influential medium of fashion.
Roland Rahal: “In the realm of fashion, I wield not just threads but also the power to initiate change, turning my creative endeavors into a forceful statement for transformation. With Mourjjan, a proud recipient of the 2023 Miele x Mode Suisse Positive Impact Award, I don’t merely design garments; I consistently aim to weave a narrative of solidarity and support for social issues. My commitment through the FW24/25 Collection is to draw more attention to the critical concerns of the ‘Tags Against Crime’ awareness campaign, utilizing fashion as a force for good. I believe that together, we can send a powerful message of support for those affected by sexualized violence, as every thread can weave a story of strength and resilience.”
The Mourjjan fashion show was produced and directed by the visionary Yannick Aellen, whose meticulous attention to detail ensured that every moment shone with elegance and sophistication. The show was a collaborative effort with Mode Suisse and its dedicated team. To add an additional layer of artistic expression to the show and campaign, the ethereal melodies of the Swiss band Egopusher provided a live soundtrack, accompanying the models on the runway. The Mourjjan fashion show was supported by partners such as MAC Cosmetics, Paul Mitchell, Jo Malone, Kongresshaus Zurich, Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich, and DS Automobiles.
The significance of the “Tags Against Crime” cause has remained strong since its launch at New York Fashion Week 2023, thanks in part to a steadily growing number of designers in the fashion industry supporting the campaign. Following Yannik Zamboni from maison blanche, Roland Rahal from Mourjjan is the second prominent figure in the international fashion scene to offer “Tags Against Crime” a platform at his inspiring fashion show. Other creatives from the fashion world have also expressed their interest in collaborating with the campaign, to be announced in the coming weeks.
The campaign’s initiators are delighted about the prominent platform for “Tags Against Crime.” Jacqueline Rufener: “We never imagined our campaign would receive such active support. We are extremely grateful for the visibility that ‘Tags Against Crime’ is now receiving – and continues to generate – thanks to Mourjjan’s fantastic collection.” Dominique Magnusson adds: “The wide visibility directly benefits those affected by sexualized violence. But that’s not all. They also receive a strong sign of solidarity when the social discourse consistently names and condemns the perpetrators of violence.”
“Tags Against Crime” is an awareness campaign supporting individuals affected by sexualized violence, providing them with crucial information about laundry labels on clothing. The campaign is backed by the organization Women’s Shelters Switzerland and Liechtenstein (DAO) and the Foundation against Violence against Women and Children – and a growing number of renowned designers from the national and international fashion scene.
As the lights dimmed on the Kongresshaus Zurich runway, the legacy of “Ethereal” continues to brightly inspire both the industry and society at large.
