On adds French triathlete Pierre Le Corre to its roster of athletes
The 2018 European champion Pierre Le Corre is the latest member of the On triathlon roster.
Hailing from Vannes in the west of France, Le Corre discovered his passion for swimming at the age of six, but it wasn’t before he moved to the United States at 16 that he picked up running and dove into the world of triathlon.
“I started running during my year as an exchange student in the US. I was quite good at it and I loved the freedom this sport gives you.”
Le Corre drew international attention to himself for the first time in 2013, winning the U23 World Championships in London. He continued to make a name for himself, winning the French national title in 2014 and 2015 and finishing within the top 10-year-end ranking for the first time.
In 2018 Le Corre secured his first European title and doubled up by winning the mixed team relay a day later. He added a third European medal to his name at the 2022 European Triathlon Championships in Munich, securing silver on an all-French podium.
Asked about his decision to join On, he said: “On is the epitome of excellence in running gear, representing the finest innovation and performance. It’s not just a brand; it’s the fastest-growing company in the running industry, embodying the spirit of progress and speed.”
Le Corre celebrated his Olympic debut at the 2016 Games in Rio, finishing 25th in the final rankings. He achieved Olympic qualification last year with a second-place finish at the World Triathlon Championship Finals in Pontevedra, Spain. Now, Le Corre awaits to hear whether he’ll be lacing up at the start line in Paris this July. Should he be nominated, he’ll be one of the most experienced athletes on the start line, and his dreams of winning an Olympic medal will be within reach.
