For over half a century, Peter Maffay has rocked the stage and made musical history. In addition to his impressive career, he has dedicated many years to supporting disadvantaged children and young people through his Tabaluga Foundation. At this year’s Golden Hen awards, he will be honored with a lifetime achievement award.
On November 15, the Golden Hen trophies will be awarded for the 30th time. Germany’s largest audience-driven award not only celebrates the nation’s favorite entertainers, actors, musicians, and athletes but also recognizes exceptional achievements and outstanding social contributions.
Peter Maffay will receive the 2024 Golden Hen honorary award for lifetime achievement. The German singer, guitarist, composer, and music producer has been a beloved figure for over five decades and is known not only for his artistic contributions but also for his deep commitment to social causes.
Germany’s largest audience award ceremony will be held on November 15 at HALLE EIN at the Leipzig Trade Fair, with around 4,500 guests in attendance. Starting at 8:15 p.m., the event—hosted by SuperIllu and MDR—will be broadcast live on MDR television. Florian Silbereisen and Barbara Schöneberger will host the evening.
The lineup of performers includes Roland Kaiser, Wincent Weiss, Silly, David Garrett, Karat, Max Giesinger, Kerstin Ott, Revolverheld, the MDR Symphony Orchestra, and the MDR Children’s Choir, as well as Icelandic singer Ásdís and internationally acclaimed pianist Khatia Buniatishvili.
