For years, Certina has emphasized the spirit of sports, resilience, and dynamism. The Swiss watchmaker has now dedicated a new collection to these principles: The DS-7 perfectly complements the active lifestyle of the 21st century. From three-hand models to chronographs, from quartz to automatic movements, this new watch family offers a wide range of dynamic timepieces. With a clear, modern design, they give Certina’s sport watch tradition a youthful face.

A New Watch Family

The DS-7 brings sportiness to the wrist! For enthusiasts of historical watches, its appearance might evoke memories. The design of this new product line harks back to a model from the 1970s, but it has been implemented in a decidedly modern way—with dynamic lines, fashionable details, and maximum resilience. Two models will be introduced at the premiere: an automatic three-hand version and a quartz chronograph.

Clear and Focused: The DS-7 Powermatic 80

The mechanical model with hour, minute, second, and date functions comes in a 39 mm diameter stainless steel case. It is powered by a Powermatic-80 caliber with an anti-magnetic NivachronTM hairspring, visible through a sapphire glass back. On the front, colorful dials, like a dark green with a sunburst finish, add a touch of color. Prominent indices and hands ensure clarity, which remains visible in the dark, thanks to comprehensive Super-LumiNova® coating. The stainless steel bracelet, designed from scratch, seemingly extends directly into the case, highlighting the watch’s stylish and premium character.

Elegant Sportiness: The DS-7 Chronograph

Equally sporty is the new DS-7 Chronograph with a Precidrive(TM) quartz caliber, housed in a round 41 mm diameter stainless steel case. The displays for hour, minute, small second, and date are complemented by a central stop second, a 1/10-second display, and a 30-minute counter. A tachymeter scale on the slim bezel allows for easy speed measurements. Whether gleaming metallically or coolly in brushed black, these watches are modern classics one would want to wear daily.

A Duo for All Occasions

All watches in the DS-7 collection stand out with enhanced resilience and remarkable robustness. This is ensured, among other things, by the concept of Double Security, the abbreviation of which they proudly bear in their name—like all Certina watches. Features like a protected crown ensure that the DS-7 is waterproof up to a pressure of 10 bar (100 meters). Day after day, these new watches prove that Swiss precision, fashion sense, and sporty functionality perfectly complement each other!
