“Cinema Club” – A journey into Italian film heritage through fashion with Zalando and Aspesi
A partnership with Aspesi on an exclusive co-designed capsule collection celebrating Italian cinema.
In recent news, we have partnered with Aspesi, the Italian heritage brand and pioneer of timeless wardrobe essentials, and launched an exclusive co-designed capsule collection, “Cinema Club”, celebrating Italian cinema. Rooted in the idea of reinterpreting the ‘Golden Age’ of cinema culture for young millennials, this collaboration is a love letter to Italian cinema. The collection features prints of the most iconic scenes and masterpieces from Italian film directors. It primarily explores clothing as a vehicle for dynamic storytelling and self-expression, merging film iconography with printed nylon.
The collection is inspired by Aspesi’s iconic fashion heritage and our modern approach towards luxury consumers. It is crafted in Italy and features 16 unique items that offer a fresh take on utility attire. The capsule epitomises a fusion of both of our brands’ DNAs and includes iconic fashion house garments in nylon and cotton, inventing gender-neutral shirts and t-shirts along with sophisticated pieces such as the bomber jacket and cargo trousers. With this collection, we take another step towards our collaboration with local Italian brands, offering our Italian customers access to their own heritage brands known for their craftsmanship and savoir-faire.
The collection combines the unique aesthetic vision of the past with the contemporary through imagery and video content with a focus on the essence of free-spirited young individuals such as a cheeky cinema dialogue between actor and film director, starring Italian actors, Coco Rebecca Edogamhe and Mattia Carrano.
What’s more? This exclusive capsule created with Aspesi marks the launch of the new enhanced Designer experience on our website and app, establishing a luxury boutique-style space for designer brands. The new Designer destination on our website offers a fresh and inspirational shopping experience and invites people passionate about designer fashion and newcomers eager to delve into this world. For our designer brand partners, it offers an opportunity to narrate their stories and unveil their collections, campaigns and collaborations through an array of dynamic design elements in a distinctively elevated, curated space.
“This capsule collection is an extension of our partnership with Aspesi,” says Lena Sophie-Roeper, Director of Designer & Luxury at Zalando, “With this, we aim to deepen our connection with modern luxury consumers by creating an exclusive product for Zalando with a beloved made in Italy brand. This co-designed collection embodies the ‘effortless chic’ style and perfectly responds to the modern lifestyle of our European customers.”
Speaking further of the goal behind the capsule, Lena elaborates, “Working with Aspesi, we wanted to bring them more than just fashion and connect through a unique cultural story and fashion experience unveiled onsite and celebrated during Fashion Week. This partnership is an excellent example of how we can collaborate with designers and iconic luxury brands in a meaningful way.”
“Aspesi is delighted to join forces with Zalando,” Carlos Pellegrini, VP of Marketing & Sales at Aspesi added, “With the Cinema Club capsule collection, our partnership extends beyond creativity, as we embrace the opportunity to celebrate our heritage and brand DNA rooted in art and share our joint vision. The creative concept draws inspiration from a collaborative journey with Zalando, fusing creativity and design to co-create a collection that reflects the essence of Italian culture. Together, we’re shaping a fashion narrative that celebrates the joy of innovation and the thrill of timeless expression with a contemporary take.”
As an example of the truly collaborative nature of this capsule collection, it will not only be available through Zalando as of February 21st but also via Aspesi retail stores.
