Charlotte Tilbury MBE, Founder, President, Chairman, and Chief Creative Officer of Charlotte Tilbury Beauty: “It is such a huge honour to receive a Special Recognition Award for contributions to fashion, from the British Fashion Council. Britain is a trailblazer in fashion, so inspiring, innovative, and dynamic. I am so grateful to have worked with some of the greatest creative geniuses in the fashion world, from photographers to designers, editors, stylists, icons, and models to create pure beauty magic.
From my earliest days working as a make-up artist on shows and editorial, I have seen for myself the transformative power of makeup to help everyone feel and look like their most confident selves, and it has been the honour of my life to share that mission with the world through my brand. I truly believe that when you feel your most confident you can change the world.”
In 2013, Tilbury launched her eponymous beauty brand, decoding her artistry expertise into transformative, trendsetting, innovative makeup and skincare products. Charlotte Tilbury Beauty now operates in 54 markets globally and has won over 700 awards. In 2018, Tilbury was awarded an MBE by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for services to the beauty and cosmetics industry.
Driven by purpose, Tilbury’s goal in setting up the brand was to empower people to feel their most confident. Since 2016, Tilbury has been ambassador for Women for Women International to help support the rehabilitation of marginalized and vulnerable women in areas of conflict across the globe.
In April 2022, Tilbury was appointed Ambassador of Enterprise for The Prince’s Trust, using her unique enterprise story as a source of inspiration for young people taking part in The Prince’s Trust Enterprise Programme. She is also a Partner of the Clooney Foundation for Justice, supporting the Albies which shines a light on defenders of justice around the world.
