Sarah Montani Occupies 30 Museums Worldwide

The visionary Swiss artist Sarah Montani is presenting an avant-garde sculpture exhibition, which is currently taking place simultaneously in over 30 leading museums worldwide, made possible through augmented reality (AR). Visitors can experience the sculptures on the museum grounds for free and without an application, using their smartphones. With this project, Montani addresses gender disparity in museums, where, on average, only 10% of the exhibited artworks are by women. Montani occupies the museums with her artwork – an oversized steel sculpture of a woman – creating a visible sign for the invisible women, visible only through the lens of a smartphone.

This revolutionizes the museum experience, offering a unique blend of the physical and digital art world. The vernissage is also anticipated to be exciting. It will take place online in the presence of the artist on November 11, in the morning for Australian and Asian participants, and in the afternoon and evening for European, African, and American participants.
