90 Years of Elegance: Air France presents itself in the Galeries Lafayette
On September 27, 2023, Air France unveiled its exhibition in twelve windows at Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann, celebrating its 90 years of elegance. The display will be on view until October 10, 2023, as part of the airline’s anniversary celebrations.
In 2023, Air France celebrates 90 years of elegance, technology, on-board innovation, and comfort, as well as 90 years of travel, gourmet cuisine, design, high fashion, art, and architecture. Established on October 7, 1933, the company has always promoted French excellence and offers a distinctive travel experience.
As part of the celebrations, Air France introduced a collection of five iconic dresses designed by Xavier Ronze, a French designer. These dresses represent various elements associated with the airline, from technology and uniforms to posters, fine dining, and architectural design. These dresses blend history with modernity.
Galeries Lafayette, a fashion landmark in Paris, was chosen to showcase this unique dress collection. The dresses are surrounded by a selection of Air France’s most memorable pieces, highlighting 90 years of legendary aircraft, onboard comfort, designer uniforms, gourmet in-flight dining, and design.
Air France has also launched a new bilingual website, allowing visitors to explore the themes of the showcases. A commemorative video, showcasing the dresses amid the backdrop of Air France’s operations, has also been released.
Furthermore, a special edition of “EnVols”, Air France’s media platform, will be available from September 28. This edition will explore the airline’s history and give readers a behind-the-scenes look at Xavier Ronze’s unique dresses. It will also provide insights into Air France’s uniforms and in-flight menus.
During the anniversary period, Air France, in collaboration with Galeries Lafayette, will also host fashion shows depicting 90 years of French elegance. Models dressed in uniforms from different eras of the airline’s history will walk the runway.
Concluding, Air France, which originated from a merger of several airlines, was officially founded on October 7, 1933. Since then, it has promoted French art of traveling globally. Today, with a fleet of over 240 aircraft, Air France offers almost 1000 daily flights to 200 destinations.
