1LIVE Krone: Jan Delay get a special price
In a year where music fans around the world are celebrating half a century of Hip-Hop, the 1LIVE Krone is making a special mark: Jan Delay, who not only looks back on an impressive 25-year career but has also made a significant contribution to 50 years of Hip-Hop in Germany, will be honored with a special award for his outstanding work.
Jan Delay, together with Denyo and DJ Mad, released the groundbreaking album “Bambule” by Absolute Beginner, later known as Beginner, in 1998. This marked the beginning of a remarkable career that made him an icon of German pop and Hip-Hop. Over the years, Jan Delay has significantly shaped the German music scene, inspiring entire generations to listen to their “Raveheart” and consistently follow their own path. Anyone who has seen him on stage even once knows what music means to him, how it drives him, and how it defines his work.
“Jan Delay is a great artist who has had a lasting influence on our music landscape. His unique personality and distinctive style have made him a role model for many,” says Andreas Löffler, music director of 1LIVE. “The awarding of the special prize is a deserved recognition of his great musical career.”
1LIVE has closely followed and honored Jan Delay over the past 25 years. He has already received the 1LIVE Crown as “Best Artist” and for the “Best Album”. In 2014, Jan Delay performed on stage with Disko No. 1 as the 1LIVE Krone Band.
The special award ceremony for Jan Delay will take place during the 1LIVE Krone award ceremony on November 30 in Bielefeld.
Music fans can watch the award ceremony live at 8:15 p.m. on WDR television, in the ARD media library, in the 1LIVE app, and on the 1LIVE YouTube channel. And, of course, 1LIVE will also broadcast the show on the radio.
